Position Purpose:

This position will be responsible for assisting in the developing, operating, and maintaining Geographic Information System (GIS). Supporting the operations by keeping the GIS system current, supporting staff that use GIS, and training. Responsible for adhering to standards for GIS systems. Producing GIS files and outputs for mapping, operations, engineering projects, and presentations. Responsible for collecting and maintaining GPS data for all operations under the business unit.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and maintenance of the GIS including updating geometry and attributes to reflect system updates.

Assist with field data collection as needed.

Train field staff and contractors on mobile devices and GPS technology.

Update GIS data using information provided in EAM systems such as CityWorks, INFOR, or KloudGin.

Adhere to standards for GIS systems, including but not limited to databases, applications, and training programs.

Create and maintain web applications and dashboards to support operational needs and report to leadership.

Enhance and promote the utilization of GIS within the business unit.

Train field and other users on the GIS system.

Working Environment:

Ability to do medium-duty field work such as asset GPS data collection and be outdoors for several hours per day.

Must have the ability to drive a company vehicle.

Qualifications Education/Experience/Background:

Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Data.

Science, or related field 0 - 3 years GIS experience; entry level experience with ESRI Product Suite.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Proficiency with ESRI’s suite of products including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Geodatabases, ArcGIS.

Online, ArcGIS Web App Builder, Operation Dashboards, Commercial grade GPS units (i.e.Trimble, EoS etc.).

Experience editing GIS data in a versioned geodatabase.

Experience in editing and querying databases, building descriptive and cartographically sound maps, geocoding, and spatial analysis.

Familiarity with mobile data collection and GPS techniques.

Knowledge of cartography, coordinate systems, map projections, and topology.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

Driver's License.
