Apart from these technical skills, one also requires to have personal and people's skill, to prosper as a GIS analyst. These are communicational ability on one-on-one basis, possess a positive attitude towards life, people and work and the most important aspect is to be honest.

A minimum of 5 years work experience with the system of GIS or any data management system or enterprise. Experience may be substituted for relevant education at a ratio of 2 years of experience for 1 year of education.
